MiddleWare Technical Support (2/97 – 11/98):  Determination of problems that occur with the Gateways, the applications that use them, or the boxes they reside on, involves familiarity with many different areas of the infrastructure including: Host box OS (OS/2, AIX, NT); Network (IPX/SPX, TCP/IP, SNA); MainFrame (CICS, VM, TSO, RACF); Databases (SQL, Notes, DB2); Client Workstations (NT, OS/2, WIN); and Client Applications (InfoPump, Q&E, PowerBuilder, Business Objects, Open Client, ODBC).

  • Primary Support for InfoPump Application and SQL Database on OS/2, AIX and NT platforms.   InfoPump application facilitates transporting data between Databases (DB2, SQL, Lotus Notes). User support activities include:  Defining profiles; Locating, debugging or tracking script execution; and Implementing error recovery.  InfoPump SQL server activities include:   Unlocking scripts; Maintaining / truncating logs; and Recovering hung servers.   Security activities include:  Setting up new IDs and permissions on the SQL server and InfoPump Manager; also Maintaining and re-certifying Notes IDs.   Contingency activities include:  Maintaining backups; Setting up environment; and Providing support during testing periods.  Y2K requirement activities include:  Certifying latest software versions for compliancy.

  • Primary Support for MDI Gateways on OS/2 and AIX platforms, and Secondary Support for Sybase Net-Gateways.  Gateways provide the interface allowing applications to communicate with DB2.  User support activities include:   Determining connectivity problems; Tracing transactions; Monitoring Logs; Setting up test Gateways; Performance tuning.  Security activities include:   Maintaining IDs and RPCs on Gateways; and Determine RACF requirements for remote IDs.

Configuration Management (7/96 – 2/97):  Continued performing same functions as did when JPMorgan employee (see below).

Problem Management (12/94 – 2/95  &  8/95 – 3/96):   Conducted weekly meetings to manage communications on TANDEM problems; Produced Monthly TANDEM trending and forecasting reports; Created quarterly reports on high severity problems; Produced Root Cause Analysis and Business Impact Analysis reports on high severity problems.  (Was on Maternity Leave 2/95 – 8/95).

UNIX University (10/94 – 11/94):  Attended intense UNIX training for 2 months.

Project Management:  Prepared sales proposals and presentations to prospective customers. The largest proposal was for $100MM.

Sales Support:  Performed system configurations, performance evaluations, and presentations. Contributed technical support to sales team resulting in $7.5MM of new revenue.

Account Management:  Managed 3 major banks with an installed base of $12MM. Includes support of a critical transaction processing application with a peak load of $500B per day.

Technical Knowledge:  Educate and consult on TANDEM architecture (Fault Tolerance, PATHWAY, etc.), product features (TMF, RDF, CLX, CYCLONE, etc.), and connectivity issues (SNAX, X.25, etc.).

Project Manager / Systems Analyst - Lyndhurst, NJ   USA     (1986 to 1988) Completed two-year project on schedule, upgrading system to new hardware and software for 1400 teller stations.

Systems Analyst / Sr. Programmer Analyst - Chicago, IL   USA     (1980 to 1986) Conducted full support of sales cycle with Third Party vendor relationships; Converted batch processing to automated systems; Installed software for cash dispenser system; Provided banking system in Spanish for South American bank.
